Founded in 1873 as a social club, the Duquesne Club was created as a place where members could gather for conversation, dining, and fellowship.
As Pittsburgh evolved, the Club evolved with it—becoming part of the city’s civic and professional life while preserving its original purpose as a welcoming retreat. Its Romanesque clubhouse and adjoining facilities reflect both continuity and thoughtful adaptation over time.
Today, the Club offers dining, accommodations, wellness, and spaces for meetings and celebrations within an environment shaped by generations of membership.
From its earliest days to the present, the Duquesne Club has remained a place defined not by a single era, but by steady presence and shared experience.

Life at the Club
Small plates, cocktails, and jazz in the Reading Room. Formal dinners in the Duquesne Room. Morning workouts in Health & Fitness—personal training, Pilates, squash, or time in the golf simulator—followed by a meal in the café.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner unfold across a range of dining spaces. Receptions, lectures, tastings, seasonal gatherings, and annual traditions shape the calendar year-round, with Hotel Rooms & Suites welcoming overnight guests.
Through its Societies—Art, Bourbon & Beer, Culinary, History, Literary, Rod & Gun, and Wine—members gather around shared interests. Daily life and special occasions unfold here with equal ease.

Make a Difference
The Duquesne Club Charitable Foundation supports the acquisition and preservation of significant works of art, books, decorative arts, and archival collections; the maintenance and restoration of the exterior of the historic clubhouse; and continuing education and scholarship support for Duquesne Club employees and their families.
Through this work, the Foundation sustains a tradition of stewardship within the institution, guided by members and staff committed to preserving the Club’s legacy for future generations.
